| The Taiwan Provincial
Highway Bureau was formed on August Ist , 1946 , through a
reorganization of the Motor Vehicles Division of the Railway
Administration Committee which , in turn , was under the Department of
Communications of the Taiwan Public Administration Office . Meanwhile ,
the First District Construction Office,Taiwan Provincial Highway was
established officially , where was located on section sixth Roosevelt
Road , Taipei City . And then has been located in Shuhlin Township ,
Taipei County since March , 1982 . (Shuhlin Township has been switched
its jurisdiction to Shuhlin City at present) . On July 1st of 1999 ,
with a view to the reorganization and functions of the Taiwan Provincial
Government , the Highway Bureau was placed under the Ministry of
Transportation and Communications , this office has been switched to the
First District Construction Office of Highway Bureau , MOTC. And that
president has already decreed this office renamed the First Maintenance
Office of the Directorate General of Highways , MOTC. Incessant being
responsible for Taiwan northern region both road infrastructure and road
maintenance on January , 21st , 2002 . |
